ABOUT ME

HELLO!

My name is Jovel-Ann Perez and Iā€™m a graphic designer, comic artist, and illustrator based in the Metro Detroit area. In addition to my art practice, I have 10+ years of experience working in the field of primary, secondary, and higher education.

Outside of teaching, I write and illustrate my own zines. These zines typically cover my experiences with my Asian American identity, relationships, mental health, and video games (primarily fighting games like Tekken!). I often utilize both digital and traditional art making techniques for these projects.

My current interests (and dream job opportunities) are cooking/baking, anime, manga, and tabletop role playing games.
